St. Paul, MN -- NewStudio Architecture announces its stunning Comstock Collection, a newly created line of sustainable outdoor furniture designed and handcrafted in-house by Adam Jarvi and Aaron Lorenz.

The beautifully designed and handcrafted chaise lounge chair from NewStudio Architecture’s Comstock Collection features responsibly harvested, domestic pine that offers many of the benefits of exotic hardwoods. Other pieces in the collection include an upright lounge chair, utility stool, dining table, and dining chairs.

Each unique piece in this collection features responsibly harvested, domestic pine that resembles tropical hardwoods in strength, durability, and rich beauty—without carbon-heavy transport or other ecological damage.

In collaboration with Arbor Wood Co. of Duluth, Minnesota, the premium furniture material is thermally modified using heat and steam (no questionable chemicals). Arbor Wood’s proven process alters the wood’s cellular composition and permanently hardens the pine resin for true lasting protection from rot, decay, and warp.

The Comstock Collection, named for the small Wisconsin town where Adam and his family are restoring a midcentury modern lakeside cabin, captures the beauty and simplicity of the outdoor lifestyle. “We were dissatisfied with the furniture options we’d seen when we were shopping for our own place. Exotic woods and recycled plastic furniture just didn’t feel right for sitting by a lake in the Northwoods,” said Jarvi, CEO/President of the firm. “At NewStudio, we’d wanted to launch a furniture line from the very beginning, which is one of the primary reasons that we have an extensive workshop onsite. We now have people with the capabilities and passion to fully commit to this.”

The NewStudio team worked for about 18 months to move from initial concepts and prototypes to making the final pieces in the Comstock Collection. “We’re excited to celebrate this milestone for the firm and show off this gorgeous furniture,” Jarvi added.
